Next Level Gaming has learned from an anonymous inside source that an expansion to the popular X³: Reunion from Egosoft is currently in the works. From what we hear, the game is being created by the fan-based mod team XTM while supervised by Egosoft, and it will feature more sectors, new ships, and new weapons and effects. The game will run on the same game engine as X³: Reunion while extending the story of the original game and moving in to a much larger universe. Our source says that we should expect to see this new game sometime in 2008.
In addition to the info on the expansion, our inside source also told us that the folks over at Egosoft are hard at work on other developments that include a new patch for X³: Reunion.
When Next Level Gaming contacted Egosoft for a response to this rumor, we were treated to standard “no comment”. We will be sure to keep you updated on this situation as it unfolds.
