News is out that Microsoft will be releasing an Xbox 360 bundle this holiday season. The bundle will include an Xbox 360 console, wireless controller, 256 MB memory unit, and composite cables. Also included in the bundle will be five Xbox Live Arcade games. Two of the games will be Pac-Man and Uno. This bundle will make a nice gift and is reported to have a price tag of $279.99. It looks like Microsoft was able to shave a few dollars off of the price by not including component cables. Also, the 256 MB memory unit, despite its portability, is no replacement for a hard drive and I would rather have an actual game instead of five arcade games. Hopefully the new units will have the new hardware inside and will be less susceptible to the Red Rings of Death. This should still make a good gift for someone who has not gotten into Xbox 360 yet, or perhaps a good replacement/backup unit. Although all 360s now have a 3 year warranty, some people just can not take the three to four weeks of downtime while waiting for repairs.
