Leading video games publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. announced that Soulcalibur Legends has shipped to retailers throughout North America for the Nintendo Wii. Soulcalibur Legends makes evolutionary strides in the weapon-based fighting franchise by immersing players into a third person action adventure game. Offering an exciting new combat system, the Wii’s intuitive controls will be the weapon of choice that complements the various gameplay modes and provides an unparalleled experience that is unique to the series.

Set between the events of Soul Blade and Soulcalibur, Legends follows the 16th century exploits of Siegfried and other familiar characters as they find themselves on a quest for the ultimate power to save an empire from destruction. Weapons and warriors will clash as they endure to unify the pieces of the Soul Edge sword, the very element which leads to Siegfried’s inevitable possession by the cursed blade.

In Soulcalibur Legends, sword fighting capabilities are pushed to the limit as players master orchestrated moves and unleash special attacks on large bosses and legions of enemies using the innovative controller. One-two punches will be delivered in the single player Quest Mode as players can switch between their character and an ally for more versatility throughout more than 10 diverse stages and environments. To determine the true Wii weapon master, gamers can spar against a friend in Versus Mode; compete to see who can defeat the most fearsome enemies in Competitive Mode; or put their sword slashing skills to the test in a split-screen Co-op Mode.

Soulcalibur Legends boasts the following features:

  • Wii Exclusive -  Designed specifically for the Nintendo Wii, use the Wii remote and Nunchuk to master a character’s suite of attacks in order to unify the pieces of Soul Edge
  • Unique Ally System - Switch between the various characters encountered throughout the quest to gain more versatility in every situation
  • Classic Soulcalibur Roster - Play and level up as one of several renowned Soulcalibur characters as you follow their path within history and level up through the ranking system
  • New Enemies and Bosses -  Sword fighting capabilities are pushed to the limit as players encounter a lineup of new enemies and large scale bosses
  • Weapon progression Weapons evolve with your experience, giving you added control and more powerful attacks
  • Spirit Break - Unleash a character’s special Spirit Break attacks to crush enemies with amazing effects

Soulcalibur Legends is rated “T” for teen by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) and carries a suggested retail price of $49.99. For more information on Soulcalibur Legends, please visit www.namcobandaigames.com
