The 2007 Spike TV Video Game Awards (VGAs) were held late last week, with Codemasters highly acclaimed racing game DiRT coming away yet again with another accolade to add to the list, this time receiving the award for "Best Driving Game". With the awards determined by the Spike TV VGA Advisory Council - a group consisting of many of the video game industry’s most notable editorial members - this award is further proof that DiRT is this year’s definitive, must-own racing title and a continual success for the ever growing Codemasters.
"To be recognized in such a respected awards event is testament to the creative, technical and artistic energies that the whole team invested the creation of DiRT," said Gavin Raeburn, Executive Producer, Codemasters. "We set out to take our top rally series to an all-new level, with richer off-road racing and more exhilarating gameplay than ever before, and being named Spike TV’s ’Best Driving Game’ makes us very proud that DiRT delivered on our intentions and leaves us eager to get even dirtier in the future."
DiRT is currently available at retail outlets nationwide for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system, and the PC, and is rated "E" (Everyone - Mild Language, Mild Violence, Alcohol Reference) by the ESRB.
